Impact crusher, which can also be called impact breaker, counterattack impact crusher, impact pulverizer or impact crusher, is a machine used for crushing medium-hard and crisp materials relying on the impact energy. Impact breaker can process all kinds of materials whose side length is less than 300mm and compression strength lower than 260MPa and has such features as big crushing ratio, high crushing ratio, cubic shape of the product and selective crushing. In addition, it has better adaptability when crushing materials with big compression strength such as granite, limestone and river cobble.

Impact breaker makes use of the plate hammer on the rotor that is rotating with high speed to crush the materials that are sent into the crushing chamber by the high-speed impact. The crushed materials will be thrown with high speed to the impact board on the other end of the crushing chamber along the tangential direction and be crushed again, and then the materials will bounce back from the impact board to the plate hammer to repeat the process. In the roundtrip, the materials will also hit with each other. As the materials sustain the hit of the plate hammer, impact of the impact board and the crush of the materials, the materials will constantly produce cracks, become loose and crushed. When the granularity of the materials is smaller than the gap between the impact board and the plate hammer, they will be discharged out.
